Argh, tis the season to be jolly friends, and jolly thoughts come
from us to you during this time! Is it really christmas already?
Surely that can't be true...wasn't it just christmas a minute ago?

Is it just me, or is time actually getting faster? Imagine that.

Yes the end of another year is here and as always time for
reflection. It has been a good and an okay year here in Velvet Janes
land. Lots of traveling, lots of meeting new people and lots of
changes and new directions. It's all good, but any change brings a
certain amount of uncomfortable-ness. (is that even a word?)

We are busily getting ready for our next Australian tour that starts
in Perth on the 28th February and stays around that area for a few
weeks, doing all of our favourite summer haunts down south and lots
of fun shows with out mates in the city. Then it will head over East
for a week and we will probably be doing shows in Melbourne,
Geelong, Warnambool, Daylesford, a few shows in Adelaide and
hopefully at least one show in Sydney. And while we aren't calling
it our last tour as such, it will kinda be that for now.

We are not sure what we are calling it because saying we are
finishing seems so final and it's not that. There will always be
sporadic Velvet Janes shows but we just won't be touring quite so
much anymore.

Rose has family commitments in Perth and isn't keen to be on the
road away from her family so much and Martine is on the road and
keen to be on the road more. We are also both pretty excited about
the opportunities to work on solo projects and develop our talents
in different ways. The Velvet Janes will always be a part of us and
hence the reason why we aren't so keen to say we are finishing.

So, we hope that you will come out and celebrate what has been and
drink a toast with us for what will be. Dates and places will be
coming out here in the next month or so and as always, we are open
to suggestions of where to play. Email us at vjanes@...
