I just discovered this group, so I joined. I am very involved in
Theatre Pipe Organ in Sydnay, Australia, on the Executive Committee
of the Theatre Organ Society of Australia (NSW Div.)
In addition to the "real thing," I am very interested in MIDI and
SoundFonts for Theatre Organ. I am currently experimenting, mostly
using Bruce Miles' excellent corg, sometimes getting "straight"
pipes from his eorg. I am finding I get pretty good results when I
combine the organ tracks with a "rhythm group" (using GM) for a
perc. track, jazz guitar, possibly a bass, etc.
I have found a few other organ soundfonts on the net and tried
them out. My gaol now is to sample our Wurlis (a 3/17 and a 2/11)
and make a true Wurlitzer soundfont.
Keen to compare notes with anyone else who is working along the
same lines.
