Hi Ron,
Welcome! This is a VERY low traffic group thus far but it seems to
be picking up a little. If you stick around we can start having
discussions instead of conversations ;-)
If he hasn't emailed you already, you should email John at
HMRM461@... . He has been working on a SF based on Wurlitzer
samples. I have heard some of his early work and he has progressed
considerably since then. Getting the raw samples seems to be a
significant challenge. I know John would welcome any help he can
get in that department.
I think SFs have a great potential to make surprisingly good theatre
organ emulations very accessible. We need to make this a reality.
Right now the biggest problem is getting people to believe that such
inexpensive hardware has the potential. If there were an easy to
use complete solution that was a good emulation of a theatre organ,
then I think we would start getting more people working to improve
various aspects of the emulation. Right now, it is pretty rough and
you have to have some faith and vision to work on something that is
pretty much a bailing wire and sealing wax prototype.
