Greetings,
I have just joined the group! Even though I am
building a classical pipe organ in my home I see that
some of the topics being discussed are of interest
even though this group is centered around the theatre
organ.
I see that Russ Doering has already posted a link
describing the pipe driver boards that a mutual friend
has designed:

I have some information on my residence organ project
at:
http://haskey.com/johnh/organ
If you click on the link 'Interim Report on Opus 1'
you will see what I began with: four ranks of pipes,
four YAPPI boards, a PC, and a MIDI keyboard controller.
If you click on the link 'Photo of new console' you
will see a picture of the new console that I just purchased
on eBay. This console is of interest because it was built
by a hobbyist and the only thing coming out the back is
a MIDI cable and a blower start/stop signal cable.
I am in the process of rewriting the software in the
console to be compatible with the YAPPI boards. Both are
MIDI of course but the stop selection methods are not the
same.
I plan on getting more information on the console up
on my website in the next week or so.
I am also interested in the possibility of extending
the available 'ranks' on the organ using a PC with sound
fonts. I look forward to learning more from the group.
