Jailed rapper Shyne (real name: Jamal Barrow) will crown his new deal with
Island Def Jam with "Godfather ... Buried Alive," due Aug. 10 via his own
Gangland Record Corp. imprint. A spokesperson did not respond to requests for
more information about the set, which is understood to feature recordings Shyne
made prior to his 2000 incarceration for gun possession and assault. He is not
expected to be released from jail before 2009.

The first single, "More or Less," features Foxy Brown and was produced by Kanye
West. Although his ability to promote "Godfather" is severely hampered by his
sentence, Shyne is expected to sit for an interview on a future episode of ABC's
"20/20."







With two awards apiece, Beyoncé, OutKast and Usher stood proud in the winners'
circle during last night's (June 29) fourth annual BET Awards at Hollywood's
Kodak Theater.

In addition to her win for best female R&B artist, Beyoncé also grabbed best
collaboration honors for "Crazy in Love" featuring Jay-Z. Usher claimed the best
male R&B artist trophy and the viewer's choice award for "Yeah!" featuring
Ludacris and Lil Jon, while OutKast was named best group and also took home
video of the year honors for "Hey Ya!"

Best gospel artist honoree Yolanda Adams topped her category for the third time,
the first artist to achieve such a feat in the show's history. Rounding out the
list of music winners were Missy Elliott (best female hip-hop artist), Jay-Z
(best male hip-hop artist) and Kanye West (best new artist).

Among the evening's special highlights was the presentation of the Lifetime
Achievement Award to the Isley Brothers. Along with music, the BET Awards also
honor achievements in film and sports; winners are chosen by a panel of
entertainment and media executives.

Hosted by actress/comedian Mo'Nique, the three-hour ceremony was broadcast live
on BET, where it will be rebroadcast July 13.

When we asked Lakers superstar center Shaquille O'Neal what kind of people he
finds truly "foul," he responded, "There ought to be a law against people who do
bogus things."

At the top of Shaq's "bogus" list is probably the culprit who broke into a Ford
Explorer believed to be part of Shaq's fleet.

It happened back in May, as Shaq and company were on their way to completing an
astounding comeback against the San Antonio Spurs, which ultimately launched the
team into the Western Conference Finals.

We're told that Shaq's assistant drove the car to Hollywood's glamorous Kodak
Theater, which is where "American Idol" and the Academy Awards are held. The
burglar then took off with CDs and a Sig Saurer handgun that was inside the car
that was parked in the facility parking structure.

"The Breathing Room" has been told that O'Neal is not too happy. The hoops hero
doesn't want anything bad to happen to anyone, especially if his gun were to be
involved, you know how that goes; Shaq remember 10-20- Life. Don't forget, he's
also a sworn reserve officer of the law in Los Angeles County, and takes his
role seriously. "I can't play basketball forever, I want to be in a leadership
position," O'Neal once told us.

As the LAPD investigates the crime, we're reminded of one of Shaq's favorite
personal philosophies, which he recently imparted to "The Breathing Room:"
"Don't be tricked."

We're sure that Shaq's assistant probably wasn't really trying to trick his
boss, but next time, we think he'll probably ask for the keys first. LA Lakers
rep John Black told us he didn't know anything about the incident and referred
us to Shaq's personal reps. So far, they have not returned our calls.
