Spreading The Word

Mojo Magazine are conducting a poll on their
website (<a href=http://www.mojo4music.com
target=new>http://www.mojo4music.com</a>) to find their readers
favourite singers. I submitted mine, and not only did they
use it, but they used it as an example on their
e-newsletter. Here is my submission as it appears on the
website (They edited it a little bit)<br><br>"Vox
Popular<br><br>Mojo4music Users Choose The Crooners That Make Them
Swoon<br><br>[Jimi Hendrix] Singers come in many shapes and forms.
There is the louche lounge lizard. There is the
drug-addled grunter. There is the God-fearing soul bawler. To
choose a favourite seems like an impossible task - but
that's what we asked you to do. As usual, you responded
in your hundreds - below are a few of the choicer
responses. And you'll all be pleased to hear there wasn't
one vote for Robbie Williams!<br><br> <br><br>For me,
it would have to be RICK DANKO . I don?t think I
could name a song where his voice doesn?t move me in
some way, whether it makes me want to laugh, cry or
dance. The single most spine tingling moment though, is
on the track It Makes No Difference, which is not
only my favorite Rick song, but also my favourite Band
song. In the second verse, he sings:<br><br>"It makes
no difference how far I go/Like a scar the hurt will
always show".<br><br>Not only does the lyric itself
relate to everyone thats broken up with a loved one, the
way his voice strains to hit that top note on "scar"
evokes all the pain and desperation he is feeling and we
all know how he feels. (Sent in by S
Harper)."<br><br>You can still vote. Get along to to the website and
cast your votes for Rick, Richard, Levon and, er,
Robbie? Spread the word!!

I think the spirit of The Band would be best preserved by releasing The Complete Last Waltz as it was recorded. No overdubs, no tinkering with the original...
