?BILLY RAY CYRUS: GIVING BACK TO GOD, THROUGH THE TV
¶ (Reno, Nevada-AP) -- Don't think of the PAX T-V series "Doc" as a
mere
television show -- think of it as the way Billy Ray Cyrus is paying
back
God. Cyrus says he has always prayed to use his skills and talents in
the
ways God wanted him to. He says when he saw the pilot script he
realized
Doc was that vehicle. Cyrus says after making a movie his own children
couldn't see, he decided a series that was "a little bit Mayberry, a
little
bit 'E-R'" and "dedicated to the light" was his way to thank his
maker
for
all his blessings. Still, he's hoping this season's episodes get a
little
"grittier." He's pushing to expose some of his character's "dark
period" to
give him more personality and depth.
