The Bitter Pill isn’t just a side project of some
members of Sandwich, Chicosci, Ciudad, Cousin Ed, and Join The
Club, nor is it just another musical venue for them to
indulge in their angular, indie-rock whims. Sure,
their music could be considered a homage to a wide
variety of “it” bands that most hipsters would
typically name-drop, but live, The Bitter Pill is a
unique force all their own, a musical unit to be
reckoned with. Each show is a transcendent experience
that triggers all sorts of bodily reactions – from the
band itself, as well as from their hapless audiences
who often could not help but twitch involuntarily to
their contagious, spastic punk outbursts.
