Hi,
I'm a new Bobby Darin fan, and much of that is fueled because of the
upcoming movie... fans (of both Kevin and Bobby) just can't wait
until it's finally released. While I have not not heard all of
Darin's songs, the critics have been saying how uncanny it is that
Kevin's voice is similar to Bobby's. It's been his dream to get this
film made, and he's been a huge fan of Bobby since he was young. He
said so himself that Bobby's manager said "Over my dead body will
anyone sing Bobby's songs..." but then they realized that it was not
just some ego thing of him singing in the movie. Kevin truly wants to
honor the man, and stay true to singing "live" not lypsincing. But
yes, from what I've seen, Bobby was a brilliant performer. Nothing
surpasses the original. We'll just have to wait and see how the film
turned out.
