i do agree that the album fell a bit flat for me.
the guitar pop music a la avril formula just didnt work for me, because they
really couldnt
deliver the necessary hooks. the whole point of music like that is for there to
be immediate
catchiness, rather than having to challenge the listener to listen a few
times... i feel that the
songs as a whole fail to deliver the hooks necesary for this type of music. for
instance, you
can listen to a tommy feb6 record, and think what you want about it, but those
songs have
the hooks that a pop song needs to at least keep the attention of the listener.
another note, imagine how much better the songs could be if ryo played on them.
you can
really see what he brings to the table of the brilliant green sonically,
especially listening to
the guitar music of TH6. the man is an undersung genius.
i wouldnt hold my breath about seeing a brilliant green album, but it is my hope
that they
release a new single by new years time. note, this isnt based on anything other
than hope.
