Description
The Butanes have been cultivating a loyal following of Blues fans and Blues musicians alike for over 25 years. The list of stars they have worked with reads like a Blues/Soul/R&B Hall of Fame roster. Recent recordings "Right Where I Belong" and "Memphisapolis" with Goldwax/Checker recording artist Willie Walker have gathered international praise.
Winners of the Best Blues Band award from the Twin Cities based City Pages in 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005 and 2002 as well as numerous group and individual awards dating back to the early 80s. Last year, drummer Robb Stupka was nominated for the 2008 Blues Foundation sponsored Blues Music Awards in the Best Blues Instrumentalist - Drums category.
