...has anyone seen the new Sex Pistols movie "The Filth & The Fury"?

Oh,
and does anyone else out there like the Canadian band - The Tragically
Hip?

S_F
casbah club is reporting that the clash are
possibly reforming to play the final night of the
glastonbury festival! the rumor 1st popped up at rage against
the machine's page 2 days ago and said they were
supporting a reformed clash!! all they're tour dates have
been removed! the people behind the fest are neither
comfimring or denying the rumor! the site is at:
http://casbahclub.tripod.com

could this be true??
d : right back at ya...goldfish licker.

I
never claimed to be a FAN of the smiths. I simply enjoy
listening to a few of their older songs...as for Morrsissy,
well he could take a flying leap without so much as a
glance from me....so THERE... d :
goldfish licker? I think you must be posting with
too much testosterone! Can't I call "you a smarmy
Smiths fan" without being burned at the stake? THey DO
Have medications for people like you, but I think
you're fine just the way you are! Hehehe...now our
friend..he's another story...his meds would be geritol! Post
again, you wonton firecracker fiesty ol' dabnabbit
so-and-so! Oh, MorSISSY....LOL! Good one!

Since this
is a Clash club, I better at leat refer to the Clash
once. I have listened to "cut the crap" several times
now..I like it, actually. I quit listening to what other
people had to say and made up my own mind.

Ps.
note to the comedically challenged: most of this post
was done "in fun" :-)

Later!

Rock_D
hey...i was gonna start a club on the same
topic...but i see you boys beat me to it. yeah, theyve been
in my tape player since i was a little
frenchy...good to see somebody else appreciates em as much!
later!
im sure its a beat subject, but im a rancid fan
and out come the wolves is a definite must in any
collection. especially with the comparisons you can draw
between rancid and the clash (check out the reggae (roots
rock rebel) influences prevalant in both bands).
this is probably another beat topic (too lazy to
look at previous posts), but, i bought that give em
the boot cd and ill tell you what, that x-ray style
song is incredible.

also, did anyone listen to
havannah 3 a.m.? i saw them on letterman along time ago.
im an old chap. anyways, Who was in that band?
I was listening to Operation Ivy's Seedy, and I
ran across some CLASH lyrics, it was very exciting.
The song is called "Stepping Out," and the the words
are from "London's Burning": "Now I'm in the subway
and I'm looking for the flat/this one leads to this
block, this one leads to that".
just incase anyone's been wondering where they've
been well they're new album comes out on august 2nd!
it will be on tim's hellcat label this time and not
epitaph (even though hellcat is part of epitaph!)there
are going to be some guests on the new album (joe
strummer?? tim did get him back out there and sign him and
direct a video for him..wich lars of rancid appeared in!
maybe he'll give him something in return and appear on
the new rancid album!)
op.ivy (who also had tim/matt of rancid in the
band)was huge clash fans! jesse is just as big of a fan as
tim is! check out his new band on lookout called
common rider (albums called last wave rockers!)it has a
clash-ish sound to some of the songs and he even mentions
london calling on the first song classics of love (wich
is the best tune on there!)it's really a good album
but don't expect the same op.ivy much here! great
band and great cd! too bad he's not touring ourside of
california! they probally put on a great show and i've heard
that they play some op.ivy songs live (rancid also
played op.ivy on they're last tour only this time matt
was singing take warning!)
im hesitant...i didnt like the last one, and some of the stuff on the give em
the boot c.d. is just rediculous...sounds like oscar the grouch singing. just
my two cents...big deal
the who just announced that they will kick off a
u.s. tour in late june and play throughout the u.s.
this summer! zack starkey (ringo's son)will fill in
for keith moon! they are expect to put out another
live album this summer and possibly an new studio
album! the only date i remeber is the show on july 5th
at nissan pavilion in virgina (hopefully i can get
tix-they'll cost alot!)for details go to:www.sonicnet.com or
www.addict.com
personally i thought they're last cd was they're
best and one of the most underrated and best punk
albums of all time! the new album is supposed to be more
like they're earlier two albums! what songs on give
'em the boot sound like oscer the grouch? i think
both giv 'em the boot cds are great ways to hear bands
on the label for under $5! rancid only has two songs
on there (a sham 69 cover of if the kids are
united/life won't wait from the album of the same name and
they play background on the buccanear song, wich came
out two years ago and the buju banton song..wich i
think is the best tune on there!)great cd(s)!
Must agree with you about the Buju Banton track
its excellent! I was just talking about that the
other day too.

What else do you like of the
Boot 2 one? I like the Distillers Track and the
Gadjits sound ok - well I like most of it to honest!
I just saw ""NOOGIE""(with NOFX!!) a few days
ago, Thoes guys really kicked ass!!
I got their
first album ""Learn to Swim"".It's very cool punk band
from Australia.
You ganna love this band!!

www.noogie.net
most of it i've heard before from the albums but
i was glad to finally hear rancid's sham cover
(it's been talked about for so long and they've played
it alot live!)the distillers song is cool (the
singer is tim's wife and sounds like him and courtney
love mixed!-they're also touring with dropkick
murphys/bouncing souls this summer on the ounk o rama tour..both
of those bands have cover the clash live
before-dropkick will release a compilation of b'sides/live stuff
next month and two clash covers are expected on
there!)i love both boot cds and i think hellcat really is
a great label (as is epitaph who just signed
country singer merl haggard/techno rapper tricky last
week-they already have tom waits!)both labels have put out
amazing albums and i'm glad to see they're branching out
and still keeping it indie!
The Clash interview CD. I just heard these
interviews that came free when you bought the rereleases.
Anyway, the interviews were great right up until the end.
Joe makes this final and, I felt, unnecessary plea to
have the band's "change the world" idealogy understood
and respected. Joe, you don't have to explain what
you were trying to do to us fans. The fans love you
because you stick your neck out and try to make a
difference. And every time you try to explain it to square
outsiders you sound haughty and self righteous.
hi there im jake from belfast in northern ireland
i was just wondering has anyone heard the clash
tribute band black market clash. they are coming to
belfast at the end of april and i was wondering whether
they are worth going to see
