TURN Cultural Association challenges you to join us at the
Summer Cinema in Romania, Timisoara between the 6th and 10th of August
and become part of a huge intercultural phenomenon. The second edition
of the International Romani Art Festival - Misto", organized under
the Aegis of the "Decade of Roma Inclusion 2005-2015" and "European
Year of Intercultural Dialogue Opens its Gates".
As last year, IRAF brings you music, dance, theatre, film,
photography, fire shows and workshops, book releases, craftsmen fairs,
informative activities, activities for the children and activities for
the imprisoned, in an event that gathers over 150 artists of Roma
origin and more from Romania, Spain, Hungary, France, Serbia, Czech
Republic. Above all these, this year Nude garments you MISTO with a
twentyfive-outfit collection and Hungarian chefs will be waiting for
you with a bowl of steamy gypsy gulas.
The 15 concerts present the gypsy musical phenomenon from the
ancient traditional sounds to the latest trends: spoon knocking,
beatbox, hip-hop, drum and bass, jazz, fanfare, classical music and
flamenco.
Boban Marković (Serbia), acknowledged as the best trumpet
player from the Balcans, Puerto Flamenco (Spain), winners of numerous
awards and participants at the most important flamenco festivals in
the world, Félix Lajkó (Hungary), one of the most complex artists from
Hungary, Kal (Serbia), the coolest Roma band from the suburbs of
Belgrade, Karavan Familia (Hungary), one of the most important names
on the gypsy World Musical scene, Marius Mihalache, „the master of the
cymbal" and Ovidiu Lipan Tandarica, "the best Romanian drummer of all
times (Romania), Amaro Del (Serbia), Balkan Fanatic (Hungary), an
original project that injects synth-pop, hip-hop and electronic music
in the traditional Eastern-European sounds, Gipsy.cz (Czech Republic)
the only gypsy hip-hop band internationally renowkned, DJ Click
(France) promoting an authentic sound that combines the balcanic
feaver with the energy of electronic music, Estelle Goldfarb (France),
the violin player that breaks the boundries between traditional and
modern music, DJ Vasile (Shukar Collective) one of the founding
fathers of electronic music in Romania, Dj Leizaboy (Romania) , Dj
K-lu (Romania), Colombo de Niro (Romania), the newest jazz project in
Timisoara.
