Once again, I'm attempting the big push in order to help advance the
career of a VERY talented friend.

As a long time fan and follower of the embodiment of talent known as
David Bowie, I would like to beseech my fellow Bowie-ites for a little
help.

I've come across a new performer whom I've also become a fan of as
well as a friend (at least, I hope so.) His name is TOM DETRIK and I
saw him perform twice at CBGB's in NYC. He was incredible! He's not
a Bowie clone or a cheap rip-off but just a great singer/songwriter
who is not afraid to admit the influences of David Bowie in his
music. In fact; at the first show I saw, he held up a newspaper
headline that read, "BOWIE & DIETRICH" (the German spelling) with the
biggest of smiles. Of course the article referred to Marlene
Dietrich and the film "Just A Gigolo" but he said it gave him great
pleasure nonetheless.

Tom is a performer with his own style and character yet, with a
similar quality as Bowie. Just as I see a similar quality between a
young Peter O'Toole and David Bowie, I see the same similar quality
between Mr. Bowie and Mr. Detrik. It's pure talent.

Here is where I would like your help: I'm trying to be one of his
fans that are in on the ground floor while aiding in building his
following. If you could, just check out his website where you will
find samples of his music and a schedule of his performances; give a
listen or even better, see him live. I'm not asking that you
automatically like him, just give him a shot. If you do like him,
let him know. He really is a sweet guy and deserves a break! (and
he's just so damn cute! If only he didn't have a wife....)

to catch his set this Friday in the Village
