Dear Friends:
This is a simple grassroots priced effort to help raise the funds
that we desperately need for the Banjo Gathering April 7-10 at
Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. All the information a
person would need about the Gathering is on our Gathering
Web Site at Blackbanjo.com.
The Black Banjo Then and Now Gathering, April 7-10 at Appalachian
State University in Boone North Carolina will be an
important moment in the history of the banjo, a major moment in
African American culture, and a moment of celebration of
American traditional music.
Taking an advertisement in the collectable and commemorative program
for the Gathering will be an important way for your
business, your organization, or you and your friends to become part
of this history as a supporter of the Black Banjo Gathering
and all it represents.
The university printers will be printing 500 programs. The format
will be stationary paper folded into four-page signatures. We
will be selling advertisements in full page, half page, and quarter
page sizes only. After the Gathering, any remaining programs
will be available as collectibles.
We are already reserving space for generous supporters of the
Gathering like the Gibson, Deering, and Gold Tone musical
instrument companies, Elderly Instruments, Riverlark Music, the
Charlotte Folk Society, the Appalachian Heritage Council, and
the Old Time Herald for their generous support to the Black Banjo
Gathering. We hope you will want to join them by
advertising in this program.
We are asking for $40 for a quarter-page advertisement, $75 for a
half page and $150 for a full-page advertisement. Write
checks to the Appalachian State University Foundation. Send them
with a cover letter to Black Banjo Gathering, Center for
Appalachian Studies, LLA, Appalachian State University, and Boone,
NC 28608. The university printers request that graphic
content be sent in jpg/jpeg files.
