40th day of prayer brings EXCEEDINGLY GOOD NEWS re: Beth   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #4559 of 4593 |
Praise God, Praise God - he has heard our prayers and answered them
perfectly! I'm extremely happy to report that Beth was released from
the hospital on August 12th and all follow-up blood tests show that she
has NO LEUKEMIK blasts in her blood stream at all!!

This coincides with the results from her 3rd day of chemotherapy -
which was when the 40 days of prayer chain was originally started for
her! (Read Dave's report below to see how it all relates to the
massive prayer support she has recieved throughout this whole
experience.)

Thank you to everyone who has prayed for Beth and Dave and Amanda and
Aaron - and to everyone who has sent cards and gifts, and called or
visited, or made food or just remembered them thru-out your day! I
appreciate all the encouraging words you've sent to me personally, and
thru me to Beth, via email over the past few weeks. Some of us have
never met face to face but still you've stepped forward to meet a need
and we have all been blessed by the opportunity to share with one
another.

Thank you, again - and please keep praying that Beth's recovery &
remission will continue, according to Gods will. And that all of her
family's needs will continue to be met, as ours are, on a daily basis
by the grace of God, our Father.

God Bless,
Lyn

PS I recently found out about another woman suffering from Leukemia
who is a friend of a friend who does not have a lot of prayer support
and is recieving treatment far away from her friends and family, so if
you could remember her name when you pray for Beth it would be much
appreciated. HER NAME IS LISA and I'll tell you more about her
situation when I know it. Thank you. L.

FROM DAVE, AUG 23rd:
Hi Al,

Please share this good news with all.

Yesterday was the follow up visit for Beth at Dana Farber since she
came home on the 12th of August. After her blood tests were completed
yesterday, both her Dr's were pleased to report that her blood
contained 0% blasts and therefore declared Beth to be in remission from
Acute Myloid Leukemia.

Beth is in remission! Praise God!!!

The Dr's are encouraged, and some what "wowed" that after just 3 days
into treatment Beth had no leukemik blasts. We know it is the Lord who
answered the specific and persistant prayers for her. Thank you.

The Road Ahead

Next Monday (AUG. 29th) she will be readmitted for consolodation
chemotherapy at Dana Farber. Several rounds have been prescribed over
the next 4 months to insure her AML will *never* return. Please pray
for the next round of chemo as it is often met with physical
challenges. We are trusting the Lord for one treatment at a time.
Please pray that nothing would hinder Beth's progress.

We pray that God will continue to use this in all our lives for His
honor and glory.

We ask for prayer for Amanda and Aaron who didn't quite know what was
going on while their mom was away for most of the day yesterday (due to
the Boston Dr.s appt.) We are asking for wisdom and provisions to be
made for our children over the next few months, that the Lord would
continue to meet their emotional, physical, and spiritual needs though
our friends and family.

Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever. Psalm 136:1

Appreciatively,
Dave

ALSO FROM DAVE, 8/17;

Hi Larry,

Thanks for alerting our friends to keep praying. Let me just take a
minute and give an update on Beth.

I have to say she has enjoyed her week at home. Her recovery seems to
be going well. Each day she has felt a little better with a little more
energy. There has been nothing to alert us of anything being wrong or
changing based on how she feels.

Ongoing prayer requests would be:

Bone Marrow results are due back on Friday 8/19, (we went home last
Friday with just preliminary results which looked good but the final
report should be tomorrow). We are certainly asking the Lord that her
cancer would be declared to be in remission when they call.

Our Visit this coming Monday in Boston will be to discuss all follow up
treatement options. We need wisdom to sort some things out.

We are asking the Lord to give us through all of this more and more
opportunity to declare His praises, connect with those who are
suffering, and be faithful to trust Him no matter what.

For our 5 and 3 year olds, Amanda and Aaron, who have also been
through many changes in all of this. We want them to come through this
knowing God does answer prayer and their needs will continue to met
along the way.

Many thanks to each of you for praying. The Lord has answered many of
your prayers.

Dave
