Hi Larry, Karen and Lyn,
Thanks for forwarding this on to our friends for prayer.
It is a week today since Beth completed the Bone Marrow Transplant
process. This has been an especially challenging 2nd week for her (but
to be expected, according to the doctors) primarily from the radiation.
As Larry mentioned Monday night in his update, the level of nausea and
vomiting was quite high, it continues to be pretty high and it is
somewhat of a helpless feeling when nothing seems to help it subside.
You can pray also for her sore throat as her nurse told her "it is
worse than any strep throat she could have". And you could pray for her
entire medical team; that they will be able to address these problems.
This entire process from start-to-finish takes about 4-6 weeks before
she'll be heading home. The good news is many of these symptoms should
lessen over the next several days.
She was up walking on her immediate floor yesterday and keeping track
of laps - (20) to be exact. Let me say thanks for all your cards of
encouragement and faithful prayer partnership, we are hearing from some
new friends out there. Thank you for taking the time to write.
With the Lord we are getting through every day! Our kids are doing
well, we are enjoying watching tons of tomatoes and vegatables (that
Beth and the kids planted in the late spring) starting to ripen. Our
radio ministry to men continues to be on the air each weekday. Please
pray for the ongoing support-raising efforts and growth with this work.
Sincerely,
Dave
