Hey ... That's really cool. I am a huge fan and first discovered them as UROK here in Tampa back in college. They play a couple times a year around here but there seems to be very little to be found on the web. I was really suprised they let their domain name go. If I hear of anything I will let you know.

Hello everyone. It's been almost 5 years since I last posted here. I
used the ID "pyskryst" in case you older members happen to remember
me at all :) To anyone who doesn't remember me and to anyone who
joined after December of 2001, allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Skot, and I first saw The Hazies when they were UROK and
they played at my high school in 1991. It was my first real rock
concert. I would pull the tape (called "Don't You Hurt My Dog") I
bought at the concert out every year and listen to it for days on
end.
Well, one day way back in 1999 or 2000, (I was on AOL then) I
decided to search profiles for UROK and got a few hits. One of them
told me they had changed their name to The Hazies and had a CD
called "Vinnie Smokin' In The Big Room". I think it was actually out
of print by that point, so I bought it from Gemm.com for a dollar.
Upon listening to the CD, I came upon "Skin & Bones" and realized I
had been hearing the former UROK on the radio for the previous 3
years. So, I freaked out and devoted the next year or so to working
on a fansite, finding newer music and thanks to Amy (I think...)I
got some by way of a live recording with a bunch of newer songs on
it.
So, in March of 2001, the band stopped in Charlottesville Va (where
I live) to play a show on their way to a CBGB's showcase, and
wondered how the hell I knew all of their new songs :) They were all
great down to earth guys (and my wife fell in love with Greg...oh
well :)and played an awesome show.
Anyway, to make a long story even longer, I made a website, gathered
photos and information from Mark and all of the other Hazies fans
here on the boards. Eventually Wes came here and announced that the
official Hazies.com had opened. Nothing ever came of it though, and
I noticed it's not even registered anymore.
Last week I decided to revamp the site I had all but abandoned by
2002 due to lack of news, etc. It is now just a fansite with stuff
about the band, a bio, a discography, photos (Oh, by the way, I put
never before seen pics from the Charlottesville concert on page 2)
and links to other stuff. I'm interested to see what people think
of it. Just Google "Hazies" and it's the first site that comes up.
Or go to http://www.angelfire.com/band/ thehazies/ index.html
Hope to hear from some of you soon!
