Description
In 1976 her record producer teamed Helen with Jim Ed brown for the first time on record with the tune, "I Don't Want To Have To Marry You", a song discovered by Chet Atkins. The song quickly climbed the charts to the top spot, remaining #1 for several weeks. As a duo, Jim Ed Brown and Helen in 1997 won the coveted CMA awards for "vocal duo of the year", "single of the year", and "album of the year". They went on to enjoy twelve more Top Ten singles~the majority reaching Top 5 or No. 1 status.
Helen has played the lead role of Annie in Irving Berlin's "Annie Get Your Gun", toured for two years with the Statler Brothers, owned and performed at Nashville South, her dinner theatre in Gatlingburg, and appeared with Jim Ed Brown at the Eagle Mountain Theater in Pigeon Forge, Tn.
Helen still enjoys performing at fairs and festivals, or wherever people love country music!
