my weekend with Helen...   Message List

First of all, thanks Mike for posting about Who's in the Mood!
Isn't that exciting? I just talked with Helen about that last
night, but probably would have forgotten to include it in this post,
so I'm glad Mike posted. Several people at the show last night in
Corydon were asking for the CD with Jim Ed and Helen's new single on
it! (we didn't have it, of course... but the word about the
release is getting out, Yay!)

I drove to Sidney, OH on Friday to see Helen at the Shelby Co. Fair
with Leroy Van Dyke. It rained all the way there. It rained
there! What is a fair without a lot of rain? Luckily the show was
under a big tent, so we all stayed dry for the most part. The crowd
was great and they LOVED Helen! In fact, several people left after
Helen sang. And several more stood by the product table during
Leroy's portion, waiting for him to get done so they could meet
Helen! I know I have forgotten some of the songs she did, but
here's what I remember.
In no particular order...
I'm Not Lisa
The Rose
The Tennessee Waltz
Rocky Top
Long Gone, Lonesome Blues
Fools
I Don't Want to Have to Marry You
I Will Always Love You

Never fear, I made a list of the songs in Corydon, IN last night at
the Corydon Jamboree.
In order...
Silver Threads and Golden Needles
Someday Soon
Somewhere Between
Long Gone, Lonesome Blues
The Rose (standing ovation after this one!)
I'm Not Lisa
Morning Comes Too Early
Fools
Lyin' In Love With You
Marry You
You Don't Bring Me Flowers
Almost Ready
How Great Thou Art

Helen sang the duest with one of the guys from the Jamboree. He was
really good! His new nickname is Lloyd 'Ed Brown'. LOL
The crowd really loved Helen in IN also. (what is there not to
like, I ask?) They are already talking about having her back
there! Last night's show was completely sold out! They were
turning people away! And that is after they set up an extra row of
folding chairs in the back! Yay!

Looks like I will probably be at Jim Ed and Helen's show in Benton,
KY in a few weeks. Helen twisted my arm! Well, she didn't have to
twist too hard! LOL She is doing another show in KY the same
weekend, but I can't remember the town she told me. I'll ask her,
and post when I find out.

I'm sure I forgot something... I'll post again if anything else
pops into my mind!

Smiles!
Susan :o)
