Neither the original website text nor my comments on it were intended to
offend anyone, nor to preach at them. My own comments originated because a
female friend organist, who is taking more pipe-organ lesons, called my
attention to the website and wanted my comments.
However, as for associating the organ and organ-playing with the
Judeo-Christian religion, it's early historical fact. There was a hydraulus
organ in Herod's Temple in Jerusalem. And that kind of organ was used in
homes for hundreds of years by those who could afford them. Some of those
were Christians. An Etruscan in Italy invented the forge-bellows pipe organ
well into the Christian era. Very early on the pipe organ was associated with
Celtic Christianity in Britain.
