This is too funny! I had a similar situation happen to me one
Christmas Morning at the early Mass. This woman ascended the organ
loft stairs, banged open the door and informed me I was playing too
loudly--she couldn't hear herself think. To which I replied: a.) you
aren't here to think, b.) It's Christmas Day and Joy to the World is
a celebratory piece that isn't loud, simply full in tone and c.) that
I didn't tell her how to worship so she shouldn't tell me how to play
an organ. I then wished her a Merry Christmas and shut the door. The
interesting side note about the service was that I received many
compliments on the music and it's performance that day!
