Steve,
I noticed ypu list a Harmonic Flute at both 8' and 4'. Since a true harmonic
open pipe overblows at the octave, its fundamenttal is actualy the 2nd partial
at 8' of other 8' stops. This places its partials out of sync with the
partials of any regular 8' stop. Thus they won't blend well.
An instrument flute sounds completely different at Middle C than it does an
octave higher, where it overblows. The ear epects wind instruments like the
flute or trumpet to overbow at that pitch. So whether they blend wel there isn't
a big problem.
Since a clarinet emphasizes the odd harmonics, it overblows an octve and a
5th above the lowest note. So I suggest you keep your harmonic manual stops at
4' or higher. An 8' harmonic Trombone could be used in the Pedal. As it
normally overblows at that pitch. And is the pitch a trombone normally is played
at.
