Live Just Intonation Heard & Played!   Message List

All,

Today, as I was proofing my just-intonation-scored hymns in 1 b, I thought
how very much everyone is missing by not being able to hear music played in JI!
So on the Sunnydale Academy Johannus church organ I play in Meantone--MT
(0-2#/b) or Werckmeister--WM (0-3 #/b) when I can. That way at least the major
3rds
are pure for most four-part hymns.

I feel so privileged in not only being able to hear live music in JI, but
even more to play it on the analog JI organ I invented, designed and am
building--no pedalboard hookup yet, using the just chromatic scale I developed
with
God's help. Each of the three manuals is tuned differently via key-signature
stops to minimize the need to use the 12 split digitals per octave. I and IV
scales are used mainly, but occasionally a 3rd diatonic or flatted III or VI
scale.

Pauline
