Are you passionate about learning to play the piano? Do you have a keen
enthusiasm or intense desire to succeed at playing the piano? Being passionate
about learning to play the piano is extremely important when taking on this
dream. Playing the piano involves so many different facets. Just read through
any piano forum discussion and you see that the instrument, the teacher, the
method, the style, the music, the way to practice, inherent talent, technique
and the time it takes to learn are just a few of the many many things about
playing the piano that are discussed endlessly.
So, is having a passion to learn to play the piano enough? Obviously not but the
passion for your dream will help you get through the obstacles which will be
presented on your quest. Obstacles? Yes, you may encounter some along the way.
First, do you have a keyboard instrument? If you do, get it out, dust it off and
bring it up out of the basement. If not, get online and find a keyboard
instrument to fit your dream and your budget. It's out there. Article after
article and book after book have been written about purchasing everything from a
starter keyboard to the grand piano of your dreams. This is your first challenge
but one easily met by a person with a passion to learn to play the piano.
Second, what do you do once the piano is in your home? Teach yourself, look
online for piano methods, or sign-up with a teacher for weekly lessons? Now is
the time to define your passion and to decide exactly what you really want to
learn.
Do you want to become a concert pianist, prepare for study at a music school,
play your favorite classical pieces, play for church, entertain your friends and
family at parties and on YouTube or simply play for your own enjoyment? The
difference in types of methods available is as varied as there are people with
the passion and dream to learn to play the piano. So, decide exactly what you
want to do with your passion and choose wisely a method that bests suits your
style.
Next, to make your passion and dream of playing the piano a reality you must
decide to devote physical and mental energy to your dream. This is where passion
comes into play the most. Playing the piano can be challenging. It can be
daunting at times and yet at the same time it can be fulfilling and an absolute
joy. Getting past the daunting and challenging times to those of joy happen
because a person is passionate about learning to play the piano.
Finally, a person with a passion to play the piano will make the time to allow
that dream to become a reality. They will make the time to work toward their
goal and will also make the time to celebrate each successful step of the
journey of becoming a player of the piano.
