Hi all you folks on the updater,

I know that I said I wouldn't send out too many
updates in anticipation of the new album, but I've
just been listening to it, and I was so thrilled that
I decided to put some more samples from the album up
on the website. Plus, today is exactly a month until
Kristin's solo album "Ports of Call" will be released
on September 2nd by Dren Records.

"It's absolutely beautiful!" (says myself)

To wet your appetites, I put up downloadable MP3
excerpts from three songs off the new album, and
posted their full lyrics. I tried to edit them so
they'll make good listening and you might even wish to
load them onto your MP3 players even though the full
length versions will be even better.

The full length 2003 version of "Finding A Woman" is
still available to download at the website, but you'll
have to get the album to compare it to the new 2006
version.

SURPRISE CONTEST!

As previously proposed, we've decided to have a
contest and the winner gets two free copies of the new
album - each with hand decorations and signature by
Kristin Mueller herself. One copy is for the winner,
and the second copy is for the winner to give to a
very interesting person that they know.

The question is -

"Who is the most interesting person that you know
personally that you would like to give the album to as
a gift?"

To answer the question, please describe the person,
how say you know them and why you think it would be
interesting to give them the album.

The questions all need to be e-mailed in by the final
day of August 2006. The winner will be the person
whose choice sounds most interesting. We'll send out
the notification of who won by the album release date
- September 2nd.

PS - Finally - a correction of the name of the new
WFMU show - it's called "Old Time New" and it's on on
the final Friday of every month (6am-9am). It's only
available via webcast, and it features Kristin Mueller
& Noah Uman as hosts and includes a Matty Charles live
performance on the last Friday of every month via web
stream only and if you don't get up that early, you
can always catch the show on the webstream and show
archive.

please consider seeing Katell Keineg play at the
Bowery Ballroom. She had a series of sold out shows
in July, and she's returning to New York for this
