The New Seekers news update June 12th 2009
Hi everyone
Advance notice that TNS will be appearing on Aled Jones BBC Radio 2 show on
Sunday July 5th which begins at 7.00am. Details to be confirmed but it looks
like the group will be on after 7 and again after 8 and will be performing live
and chatting. ` It's Been Too Long The Greatest Hits and More' ( why didn't I
come up with an easier to keep typing title such as `Best of'?) will be
receiving air play by the station immediately so ears pealed. I have received
the art work for the album and it is fabulous. Absolutely fits the essence of
the seventies, full of colour, vibrant and just yells out `BUY ME'! Lots of
great images of the group and a synopsis of each song. Incidentally the title
song is a brand new recording by the group of a song written by Mick Flinn and
Steve Kipner who has written many hits such as Genie in a Bottle, Hard Habit to
Break, Physical and a recent song for Irish group The Script, `The Man Who Can't
Be Moved'...no wonder it's such a great number. Those of you who have heard the
song seem to love it. I guess it's not a typical NS song in so much that it
features the boys on lead and is quite a rocky song, well rocky ish!
I have confirmation of the other exciting release for this July..TBC. Remember
the Flashback album from 2 years ago. Well I was very pleased with the album as
I know so many of you were too but it wasn't as I had hoped and planned. I now
finally have what I first wanted and sadly wasn't allowed! So a double CD will
be issued called The New Seekers `Together Again/Anthem. CD 1 is the entire
Together Again Album with Bonus tracks: Hey Look High, The World Belongs To Me
and Give Me Love Your Way which apart from Hey Look High are both first time on
an album/CD. As are the Marty, Paul and Danny songs Coming Alive Again, Water
Lady, Take Me Back, Dinkey, Sweet Melinda and Holiday. The second CD is the
album Anthem in its entirety plus bonus tracks, again never before available
other than the original single, Aladdin, Don't Stop the Music, You Needed Me and
one never before available NS song which I can't reveal just yet other than
saying that it's a fabulous cover of a well known hit from the seventies. They
really makes it easy to guess eh?
As promised this 40th anniversary year is shaping up to be one of the best yet
for TNS and next year is already taking shape for `The Greatest Hits' Tour.
Still lots of chances to catch the group this year of course so see you
throughout the Summer and Autumn.
Speak soon
