oleander just got off the ground promoting their new album,
headlining their own tour, going to play some radio summer
festivals...then, the bass player hurt his hand, and the tour has
been postponed.  There's also rumors about promotional issues with
sanctuary. It was very hard to find the new cd when it came out, not
because of it selling off the shelves, unfortunately, rather no
stores were really stocking it.  If you could find it, there were
maybe only one or two copies...and it wasn't even placed on the "new
cd showcase" racks at stores.

Oleander is a very good band, but haven't gotten the props they
deserve thus far.  When I try to promote this band for some friends,
they may like the sound, but are too lazy to buy anything not being
played on mtv  trl , mtv jamz , or mainstream radio.

as was pointed out, most of the internet chat re: oleander takes
place on their official boards.  This used to be a hot spot until
around christmas time when they revamped their website.

It is usually fairy quiet on here. I think a lot of people just post on
boards.oleander.net. Although right now it is VERY quiet because Oleander is
kind of in limbo.

Yeah, one of my friends said he met them a few years back and they
were the coolest/nicest guys you would ever meet. I would very much
like the chance to meet them if possible, but I'm not going to get
my hopes up very high. I will more than happy as it is to just
finally see them live! :)

as far as meeting the band, i guess it's just a matter of time and
chance.  i was leaving a restaurant and held the door open for the
people walking out behind me and it just happen to be doug and ric.
they were very cool and i walked a couple of blocks with them, just
chit-chatting.  after the gig, the band hung outside the bus for
probably over an hour, just talking with fans.  some of the nicest
guys i've ever met ...

I haven't got tickets for the Nashville show yet because I am not
sure if I will be able to go. I am, however, definitely going to the
Chattanooga show! :)
As for meeting the guys...is it common for fans to be able to meet
the guys in the band? I would love to meet them if possible and get
my cd autographed.

show ...

oleander played in nashville in the summer of 2001 ... got to meet
the guys ... they were very, very cool ....

That would be Justin.  He's been with them for quite a while and he's
also their sound man.

I am absolutely ecstatic because Oleander will finally be returning
to Tennessee for 2 shows in Chattanooga and Nashville!! Woo hoo!! :)
I am pretty sure the last time they were here was back in '99 (could
be mistaken), but either way, I have been waiting for them to come
back so I could finally see them LIVE for a LONG time!! This is
going to be the best concert I have ever attended! :)

Hey does any body know the name of Oleanders tour manager? I met him
last time they were out and he was totally cool. I was just wandering
if he was out with them again and if any body remembered his name?

I would love to from those of you who went to the CD release last night. I
thought the guys were great ~ even though the sound system as being a pain.  The
new album is really good, I have been playing it for the last week.  A CD review

business for the show in March. I was just wondering if anyone else

nightlife you have there. I will be in town from the 3/11-3-15.  Just
looking for something to do other than the concert.  Also if anyone
is interested in pre-partying before the show let me know.

release 'joyride' on february 26 at hal daddy's which is located on
lombard street

i will have exact time specifications within the next few days or
so. there will be no cover charge

i will have some samplers and stuff like that to give to all that
attend as a big thank you. there maybe a raffle of somekind for a
special prize...but, i haven't figured it all out yet

where's all the excitement that should accompany this new release?
no posts since january.  I guess everyone is doing their thing on the
discussion boards.  Tour dates starting to be released...less than 3
weeks away from the new disc.  from the home page, it looks like
they're starting out local in cali, and have a couple of dates
heading eastward through vegas, utah, and colorado with support from
former candlebox member.

Now, is this just starting out as smaller shows, to get the ball
rolling, then on to bigger things? I wonder if they'll do the summer
radio festival thing to cover the country, and gurantee playing for
~15-20,000 people a night as opposed to a club only tour.  Western PA
has to wait until late may then to hear oleander for the annual 105.9
x-fest.

well, thanks to cracked-rock.com/oleander for releasing the bsides on
their website....love those tunes that I so desperately wanted to
hear.
