Joey died 2001. Dee Dee died 2002. and now Johnny 2004. It's a sad day
for all.


Third member of the Ramones dies at 55

JOHNNY Ramone, guitarist and co-founder of the punk band the Ramones,
has died at 55.

After fighting prostate cancer for five years, he passed away in his
sleep at his Los Angeles home on Wednesday.

The band’s artistic director, Arturo Vega, said: "He was the guy with
a strategy. He was the guy who not only looked after the band’s
interests but was also their defender."

Ramone, whose birth name was John Cummings, had been admitted to
hospital in June.

He was one of the original Ramones, whose hits included Sheena Is A
Punk Rocker, I Wanna Be Sedated and Blitzkrieg Bop.

Johnny Ramone founded the band in 1974 along with singer Joey Ramone,
bassist Dee Dee Ramone and drummer Tommy Ramone, who is now the only
survivor of the four.
