In conjunction with MY.OZ, the Australian High Commission's year-long
cultural program to celebrate the 50th anniversary of relations
between Australia and Malaysia, and in collaboration with KL
Performing Arts Centre, Australia's premier contemporary music
ensemble, the Australia Art Orchestra (AAO) and renowned musicians
Ruby Hunter and Archie Roach will be performing Ruby's Storyon 31
July at Pentas 1, KLPAC at 8.30pm.

Described by the Sydney Morning Herald as "an uplifting affirmation
of the human spirit", Ruby's Story is a unique collaboration between
some of Australia's leading jazz musicians – the members of the
Australian Art Orchestra – and Australian indigenous musicians, Ruby
Hunter and Archie Roach.

Ruby Hunter is a Ngarrindjerri/Kukatha/Pitjantjatjara woman from
South Australia. With Archie Roach, she has become an inspirational
performer in the Australian music industry. Archie is a poet,
storyteller and singer/songwriter, internationally renowned for his
poignant and passionate songs and performances.

Ruby's Story is a very special musical experience full of humour,
sorrow, fun and love combining Ruby and Archie's country music and
gospel traditions and the AAO's own jazz and classical influences.
Ruby's Story will be performed in Kuala Lumpur for one night only,
after a sold-out premier season at the Sydney Opera House and
acclaimed performances across Australia and the world.
