Hi
In 1998 I had all my albums nicked and I've not been able to replace
them. The thing that hurt the most was loosing

Intermission = Dio

And

Hear'n Aid where Dio sings "Stars".

I still need to get hold of Stargazer....

I miss these tracks badly...even though I got Killing the Dragon,
Diamonds and Magica to keep me company.

I believe that you can get " Stargazer" off one of Rainbow's "Rainbow
Rising" cd. I hope this helps out. Later

Hello friends,

Now I feel like I've got to jump in! I've been a subscriber for quite
some time, that being several months, and received some great (and
not-so-great either :)) news thanks to this very group!

And now I see that a person I know is here too!

Now welcome here, 2blu! I was going to write you, anyway, but never
found time. Now I see that you're not only a Joe but a Dio fan as
well! That's rare!

I am a fellow singer as well, and RJD and JLT are two of my biggest
influences, nice to know I'm not alone.

Now let's make this group a lively place :)

What do you all think about Craig Goldie back in the band? I didn't
like Doug Aldrich, anyway, because I didn't like KtD at all. On the
opposite, I admire Craig Goldie's writing talents...

Welcome aboard Ed, I'm pretty new in here myself.
Let's make some noise. This place has been quiet ever
since I joined. Hope it hasn't been this way always.

Thanks 2blu. I feel much better now, and my Dad's office machine
still has problems. The home PC is located in a better ventilated area
so it hasn't begun behaving strangely yet.

tyc> Yep, we sure are birds of a feather (you ain't alone).

Oh yeah...

tyc> I'm sorry but what's "KtD"? (Just expressing my
tyc> ignorance).

KtD is short for Killing the Dragon, Dio's 2002 offering. I thoroughly
enjoyed the track titled Throw Away Children, it was co-written by
Craig Goldie, IIRC, though I didn't realise it until now. Now I see
this might be the explanation behind the fact it is a standout tune.

Rock'n'Roll is a nice track as well, Killing the Dragon itself ain't
bad, mostly the lyrics are interesting.
Scream has great lyrics, I mean, the idea is great, though not
necessarily stated clearly. It is: that even if we idolise someone on
this Earth and feel he/she brings beauty to our lives (it applies to
celebrities), he/she is just a human being like all of us and may feel
pain, have troubles etc.
Push (the one to which there exists a video, I've seen it on Russian
MTV yesterday, in a hard rock programme :)) was a nice track. Cold
Feet reminded me, as well as many other fans/reviewers, of Ronnie's
earlier band Elf (Ronnie and Dave Feinstein promised several years ago
there'll be a reunion, but it never happened).

But overall, this album is the least favourite Dio album of mine. Its
predecessor Magica is marvellous, I rate it as high as Holy Diver
and Strange Highways - as Dio's best solo efforts.

tyc> I bet you like Coverdale too. Lemme know. I gotta run
tyc> now. Keep writing in.

Yes, I do like David Coverdale a lot, one of my biggest influences as
a singer/writer! His lyrics are great and the blues/soulful tone of
his voice is unmatched! He's no Paul Rodgers clone, really - they're
different. I like Paul very much too, as well as Glenn Hughes, his
buddy.

You like Judas Priest too, right? You used a paraphrase of their song
title, Rock Hard Ride Free in one of your recent posts to the JLT
list! I am a big fan of Halford as well! Wanna know more? There's a
link to my site, Funky Deuce Project, in the Link section of Gustavo's
club. There some of reviews can be found. More to come
soon.

Yes, would be nice, though Viv is having a good time with Def Leps and
his own project titled something like Clockworks! He's unlikely to
quit that all, I guess. Sad to say.

I wanna hear Dio play with Yngwie though :) And write some songs
together, how's that?

Hello all From Albuquerque New Mexico!
New to group so be gentle-
I started reading this message board in hopes of catching any reviews

does anybody out there have it yet?

Hey FD,

Wow, thanks for the education. You seem to be a real
Rock Encyclopedia! Hats off to you my friend!

We do have a lotta common influences. David Coverdale
and Glenn Hughes are definitely my favorites. And so
are Dio, Ian Gillan, JLT (we all know that, don't
we?), Jeff Scott Soto, Eric Martin and Geoff Tate. I
also like Joey Tempest (of Europe) and ex-Toto
vocalist Fergie Frederikson.

I'm sorry I've been talkin too much about myself guys.
I'm sure you understand that I know FD from another
yahoo group and so it really is exciting to find her
here again. I'll sign out here.

Posted some pictures of DasRainbow UK hard rock band and Rainbow
Tribute. These guys rock, they look good and sound brilliant.
Vocalist is very RJD. They play a lot of early Rainbow tracks with
good improvisations, so they really play it a little different each
time. Their original material is very Rainbow/Purple. Guitarist and
keys amazing, drummer very Cozy with Double bass kit. More pictures
and sounds/video on their web site at www.dasrainbow.com check it
out, could be Rainbow reborn ! Well close anyways.

I've just finished listening to YJM & RJD doing 'Dream On' by
Aerosmith together. That rocks, guys.
The mp3 can be found on http://www.yngwie.org, in the section
Tributes, there's a link to the file with the whole song. The quality
is 128 kbps, pretty much listenable. It's from an Aerosmith tribute
'Not the Same Old Song and Dance', released in 1999, IIRC. I don't
have the whole CD, but it boasted some other cool artists like
Slaughter, Richie Kotzen etc.

And what is supposed to be there? Will the DVD feature old videos
released as Time Machine some time ago, in 1992 IIRC? Or only a
footage of one of the newer shows is to be found?

tyc> Hey FD,

tyc> Wow, thanks for the education. You seem to be a real
tyc> Rock Encyclopedia! Hats off to you my friend!

That's flattering :) Thanks!

tyc> We do have a lotta common influences. David Coverdale

tyc> we?), Jeff Scott Soto, Eric Martin and Geoff Tate. I

Wow, that's really a lot of common interests! I suggest you mail me
privately some day! The address is to be found lower, in case you
forgot :).
