I've seen THEM live!!!!
I can't believe it. It's been the most beautiful gig I've ever seen.
I don't often go to gigs...I live in a very small town, far from
Milano or Bologna (where usually international bands go to play), and
I've been at school until last year, so I never could go to see
anyone. I missed Morrissey, the Cure, Depeche Mode etc etc...But now
I'm free from school and I've gone to the gig with my friend Sarah.
Oh it was just FANTASTIC!
They've started with Memorabilia. Marc is WONDERFUL...oh, I don't
know. I mean, he's in his 40s. And I think he's got 9 lives! He just
looks like he's in his 20s. He is in a wonderful shape. He's still so
slim and dances all the time...he's Dorian Gray, he's sold his soul
to stay young, that's the only answer. Dave Ball was also
fantastic...with all his synths and keyboards all around, playing
that special, dark, fascinating music; making that magic atmosphere
that I feel so close to my soul. I felt like I was back in 1982.
They've played a lot of the songs from Cruelty Without Beauty, I'm
not sure of the titles as I still haven't got the album, anyway I
think they were Monoculture, Together Alone, Divided Soul etc. And
they're beautiful, they sound so like the early 80s. They've also
played, from Non Stop Erotic Cabaret, Bedsitter (!!! I love this
one!!!), Tainted Love, Where Did Our Love Go?, Youth (!!), Say Hello
Wave Goodbye (this one was the last one...sigh...take a look at my
face for the last time!) and, I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT, Torch and
Insecure Me!! I love these 2 songs! I've been singing them in my
bedroom for years and then seeing Soft Cell playing them has been
just too much for my poor heart. From The Art Of Falling Apart
they've played Barriers, Loving You Hating Me (I love this one!) and
The Art Of...
What can I say more? For one night I was back in 1982.
Dancing, Laughing, Drinking, Loving, and now I'm all alone in bedsit
land my only home!
