There was a massive fire last night at The Station in Rhode Island.
At least 26 people are dead at this point (5:44 am central) and about
164 hospitalized. It occurred within the first song. A pyro went
off and ignited the egg crates. I have watched this video several
times tonight and it just lit up. Apparently the blaze was full
blown in 3 mins.
Im just gonna quote a few new articles. Ty Longley who did play with
Sam 7 for a period of time was on stage. It was hard to miss those
curls. News reports are stating that one of the guitar players is
missing. Both Mark Kendall and Ty Longley are being named in
articles. I am not sure at this point who it is. Unfortunatly I am
not a big GW Fan, and am not current on their touring line up. If
anyone has any corrections at this point please let me know. I do
know that Ty was on stage. I think he even had his shirt with the
blue Star on it. Will try to send out another update tomorrow on
this situation.
Im gonna steal from www.knac.com You can read full update here.

From MelodicRock.com: (The official sponsor for the Great White tour)
I have just had first word from Paul Woolnough, band manager and
president of Knight Records. Paul writes: "We still do not have all
the facts yet and Ty Longley, the guitarist is still missing at this
time. This was a horrible tragedy and our thoughts go out to
everybody. When we get more information then I will forward it to
you. Mark and the rest of the band all got out OK and made it to the
bus. They are trying to find Ty. Please ask your readers to pray for
the victims and people that are missing at this time. Thanks, Paul"
From The Drudge Report: "It went up like a Christmas tree," said Jack
Russell, Great White's lead singer. "I was trying to put it out with
a bottle of water. I turned around and the building was engulfed. My
sound man is injured. I'm on my way to the hospital. I'm missing my
guitar player."
From Associated Press: WEST WARWICK, R.I. — A large fire engulfed a
West Warwick nightclub, resulting in several deaths and numerous
injuries.
At least 30 people reportedly were injured in the blaze that broke
out around 11 p.m. Thursday at The Station on Cowesett Avenue.
Local TV stations reported that the fire started as part of a
pyrotechnics display during a concert at the club. Police said the
fire fully engulfed the one-story building.
WLNE Channel Six says at least thirty ambulances carried the injured
from the fire to Rhode Island Hospital in nearby Providence.
West Warwick police confirm there are injuries, but did not specify
how many.
Channel Six says when firefighters got there, up to 75 people were
trapped inside.
FROM CNN: WEST WARWICK, Rhode Island (CNN) -- A pyrotechnic display
during a rock concert late Thursday ignited the stage and spread
inside a packed nightclub near Providence, causing concertgoers to
bottleneck the exits as they fled for their lives.
At least 40 people with a range of injuries -- mostly burns -- were
taken to Kent Hospital, a few miles from The Station nightclub in the
Providence suburb of West Warwick, according to a spokesman.
Others were taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, although it
was not clear how many.
Reporters said dozens of area ambulances were frantically treating
individuals outside the club.
Massive flames and heavy smoke poured from the building.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing several people with injuries ranging
from serious burns to cuts and bruises.
Video shot by CNN affiliate WPRI showed the onstage fireworks evolve
into a massive fire. Initially, fans casually made their way toward
the exit. Then, panic broke out, according to videographer Brian
Butler, who was taping the rock concert.
"It was that fast. As soon as the pyrotechnics stopped, the flame had
started on the egg-crate backing behind the stage, and it just went
up the ceiling and people stood and watched it," Butler said.
"Some people were already trying to leave and others were just
sitting there going 'Yeah, that's great!' and I remember that
statement because I was like, 'This is not great, this is time to
leave.'"
People were stacked on top of each other, trying to exit the
nightclub, witnesses said.
The 1980s heavy rock band "Great White" was performing at The Station
in the Providence suburb of West Warwick when the fire broke out.
CNN is reporting Mark missing and MSNBC is reporting Ty. If you can
clarify this please post back! CNN, MSNBC and Knac all have the
article on front page. Sludge also something up.
Please take a moment today to have some good thoughts for all out in
RI as well as their families around the country. As we all know,
many of us have traveled to a different state to see shows.
