you can't seriously tell me that 'a man needs to
be told' is a good song? what's happened to Tim's
voice?!! it makes me laugh everytime I hear it! and that
other song, 'love is the key' it sounds like something
off of 'Screamadelica'! I'm sorry mate, but I think
they've lost it! I still like their other stuff. 'The
Charlatans' is one of my all time favourite albums, but I
won't be buying the new album. I realise bands can't
keep making the same stuff over and over again coz
that's boring but why did they have to suddenly sound so
bad? Although, to be honest, I didnt think the last
album was that great either, but the singles were
brilliant. They are one of my favourite bands, and like all
your favourite bands you always try and like whatever
they do, but I'm afraid I just can't get into this new
stuff. There, that's got that off my chest!!

Im a big charlatans fan and i think the new album
is fantasic. I do love the early stuff ,sproston
green, the only one i know right through to the current
album. If they kept making the same old stuff they would
be as predictable and as boring as oasis. Also how
can you no longer be a fan has all the old stuff
become shit overnight also.

Hi all,

Does anyone know anything more
about this so called reunion?
I am referring to the
recent reports coming in re The Stone Roses
reunion.

I am also a member of MerseyParadise, and the same
question was asked. I couldn't believe my eyes when
replies were coming in saying that it would be a bad
thing for them to reform!!!!..........EH!! WHAT THE
F*CK ARE THEY ON?????? For a band that changed the
lives of more than one generation, surely that can't be
a bad thing!?! What do you think

yes, i do know what transition is. we got it with
us and us only to a certain degree. many fans of the
band slated them for that album, which was in my
opinion one of their best.

i have not ostracised
the band, if i had then surely i would have given up
on them before buying a ticket to see them on their
forthcoming tour. rather, i was merely expressing my opinion,
albeit in a rather single-minded way, which wasn't my
intention at all, that their recent change is not my
thing.

that's all, nothing sinister, certainly nothing
oppressive

Whats it all in aid of you ask, well darling, its
called transition. Its emblamatic of society in general
that anyone or anything that deigns to evolve or
change direction is immediately reproached by the
narrow-minded and obtuse. This very same concept applies
equally to bands, instead of being extolled for daring to
diversify, groups like the Charlatons and indeed the Stone
Roses with Second Coming recieve opprobrious criticism
for doing exactly what we should expect of Artists!
While I myself may prefer earlier material i'm not
about to ostracize the band for being capricious or
invoking a transition in musical style!
Try not being
so oppresive, you may find it liberating!

i know exactly what you mean. i mean, what's all
this trying to sing like curtis mayfield stuff all in
aid of?

apparently tim burgess reckons they've
become sexy, but i think in becoming sexy, they've
actually sacrificed being any good.
what's happened to
the hammond????

i haven't got wonderland and i
don't intend to get. i saw them at v2001 and they were
quite disappointing. i just hope their october tour
will be a bit better, if not, yeh, it'll be a real

but i'm sure there must be some charlatans fans
amongst you. i'd just like to express how SHIT i think

but i shall no longer class myself as one. what a

Hi, everyone! I just want to introduce myself.
I'm new to the list. My name's Enza, and I'm from
Boston. Some of my favorite bands are Oasis, Travis, The
Verve, Green Day, Elliott Smith, Proud Mary, U2, The
Stereophonics, Coldplay, Fiona Apple, Remy Zero, Richard
Ashcroft, the Stone Roses, and many more. ( * ¿ * ) I love
music. I play guitar, not very well, but I love it. If
any of you can tell me some bands I might like, I'd
appreciate it. I also want to let you guys know that you
should especially check out Remy Zero. They are sooo
good. They're knew album came out last week. It's
called 'The Golden Hum'. You can check out a video or
hear 'Save Me' at their website- www.remyzero.com.
It's always good to spread good music especially since
it's so hard for good bands to become known in the US.

I saw the complete stone roses in may and they
were shit hot. They all had the haircuts nailed, and
the stage mannerisms and all that were perfect. The
only downside was that 'reni' wasn't very
enthusiastic. Oh, they did 'sun still shines' as well, which
the roses never played live. It was in the same style
as sally cinnamon, hope they release it.

I'm way off, but Some fool (if they are) told my
person that Ian Brown was delving into Hip Hop, I dont
know if it's true and I'm not exactly wetting myself
if he is so... someone straighten this out. I'll buy
it anyway, because theres always UNIQUE written over
everything he does, and thats the way I like it.
Well said me old mucker. I'm off to see the
complete stone roses (with special guest mani) at Preston
on 25th May. I heard Mani himself say he thought the
complete were better than the roses themselves towards the
end.
