Why have they chosen this as a single? It's a good song by it's just not a
single! It's like putting out "Time to Go" or "Run".....the way things are with
music at the moment I just can't see it charting.

I also see the promo on ebay but just because their releasing a promo
doesn't mean it's going to be their next single, cheapskate was
released as a promo same as sofa(of my lethargy) but for other reasons
etc but I do agree it would be an odd choice for a single as it wouldnt
get any radio play Kick in the teeth or RTR would be better. Low c went
in @ 52 by the way

Fin is the next single: http://www.nme.com/news/21657

Looks like it'll only be on 7" & download and won't have any new material
though...

Makes sense to me. Why? It's consistent with the nature of the whole album,
which is very noncommercial. About the most "feed the masses" aspect of this
album is the cover art.

Kate has met them several times (she's their #1 fan). She posted a few
messages in the past about it. I haven't met them....yet. I did see
Mick and Rob eating dinner in Portland next door to where their show
was later that night, but I decided not to bother them (Kate was there
that night too).

i think you already know my story...

finally met them this year at their amoeba
records (an awesome record store here in la and
san francisco) for their signing and in-store
performance. asked the boys to plan 'eon' live,
and mick says, 'you know it's got like 10
guitars.' quite.

then the next night after their incredible show
at the troubadour, also in los angeles. i got to
talk to rob most extensively, but got my photo
taken with gaz and a bunch of fans.

how bout you????

I've met them a couple of times, but have always been too starstruck to
say much! I first met them in the Oxford Street Virgin Megastore,
promoting LOOP. Then I met them by chance signing records in Newbury
Comics whilst on holiday in Boston. Finally, I saw them DJing in a Camden
nightclub, and got to shake Danny's (remarkably soft) hand, and Gaz
stepped on my flatmate's foot - true story!

Very stupid question...how tall is Gaz, approximately? I'm curious.

When I first saw them I was entirely inarticulate. Struck dumb. Gob wide open
and staring. After the gig, I was SO scared that, having traveled to ANOTHER
COUNTRY to see them, I hung around outside in the snow for an hour and then ran
away (instead of waiting to say hello).

You would think it would get better over time, but it turns out that I am only
capable of being a complete moron when talking to any of them. I think I may be
up for "World's Biggest Plonker" based solely on my interactions with each of
them. Watch for it in the Guinness Book of Records. [I will be the gawping,
dumpy one with a stupid grin on her face. They will be smiling, indulgently,
behind me. (They are all, always, very, very kind.)]

As to Gaz's height...as you might expect, not to short, not to tall -- just
right.

I'm sure you're not as moronic around them as you think you are, but
I'm sure I will be much worse when/if I finally meet them. (Maybe
Gaz didn't notice when your umbrella was hanging in the hem of your
jacket that time.)

As for Gaz's height (and this is going to sound really lame, but I'm
being serious), I'm asking because I normally wear shoes with very
high wedges and I'm already 5'8" (I can get away with it because my
husband is 6'2"), so I'm wondering if I will tower over him (and the
other members of the band) if/when I get up the courage to meet
finally them.

Someone will know. We have such silly info available to us (damn internet).

Just Amoeba. Doesn't really count since it was just a
quick signing. I don't think they did signings in 97
or 00 or at least I didn't get in line.

Here is Caught By The Fuzz from Amoeba

Kate, I'm sure they're quite used to people burbling in their
presence, and they probably don't notice it all that much!

Re: the height thing...that's what I expected to hear, but I wasn't
sure because you can't quite tell from TV. While I'm watching the
Supergrass DVD, my husband sometimes refers to them as "those little
hairy Hobbit guys." Yeah...but he's just jealous because I spend so
much time watching them! :-)

I was curious if anyone knows why Rob is not participating in the 2006
tour. According to an interview with Mick, Rob had some personal
issues and Danny has the new offspring keeping him out of the loop this
time around. I still have tickets for the February show at Webster
Hall, and am sure that the younger Coombes brother will do great, but I
was curious what was going on with Rob.

Is Rob really not joining them in 2006? I thought it was just for the last leg
of the tour (in Europe).

I suppose it is a matter of interpretation...

"Well Bob has got some sort of personal stuff that he needed to sort
out, so we sat down and talked about it and he's just gonna be
missing for this tour." - Quinn

I don't know if he means the remainder of 2005, or the Road to Rouen
2006 tour. I'm sure someone with a bit more inside access will clear
things up, and if not I'll find out in Feb. at Webster Hall when they
come on stage. :)

I will be very disappointed if it's not the original line up on the N.
American tour, as we get to see them so little of Supergrass in this
part of the world!

From Dave (Strange Ones): There's good news and bad news tourwise, the good news
is that the Danny and Rob will definitely be back for the Japan and North
American dates, they were only otherwise occupied for the European dates. Bad
news is that there will now be no Australian/New Zealand tour as was rumoured in
October.

Cool...I'm so excited, and I will be taking my brand new digital
camera to the Seattle and Vancouver dates. I've done extensive
testing of the movie-making mode, and the quality is pretty good,
even on a big-screen TV! Since Supergrass only comes around about
once every 3 years, I need to have something to watch at home in
between!

Just ask your husband to wait in the car. Tell him that you have some
