If you are in Los Angeles

Soul on Sunset is about Changing the Game. . .

How do you bring some soul into a music scene that is too
often "soul-less"? Well, after hashing this out with some friends,
many of them artists you know and respect, I started looking for a
way to make a small contribution to the solution myself, rather than
just complaining. This is how the Soul on Sunset project was born.
Every other Wednesday night, I host a panel of artists writers and
producers from the past and the present to speak about the music,
the industry, the creative process and more. The shows are being
recorded for future broadcast. Then the D.J. spins music from the
artists and a mix of soul and socially conscious hip/hop while folks
eat, drink and network.

Positive energy continues to build as the project enters it's second
month. Last month the shows guests included Leon Sylvers of the Soul
super group The Sylvers, producer and arranger Jerry Peters {Earth
Wind and Fire, Mary, Mary, Whitney Houston etc. . .} and arranger
producer Keg Johnson {Slave, Steve Arrington, The Sylvers etc. . .}

May promises to be no less exciting with an interesting mix of
established and newer artists/producers including the dynamic Tata
Vega. Were also in conversations with legendary producer Samm Brown,
Lynn Fiddmont who after singing background for Stevie Wonder and
touring with Phil Collins and others is releasing her solo album,
and the brilliant Frank Mccomb. You saw Frank on TV with Prince at
last year's NAACP awards.

Stay tuned ya'll it's gonna get reeeeeal funky. Oh, btw. . .There's
been a long standing online conversation about soul and the state of
the music industry at The House of Soul. Just one more place to stop
by to get your "soul" on.
