Tracy Hamlin's Winter Tour Hits London, DC & New Orleans
Jazz & Neo-Soul songstress, Tracy Hamlin, began her winter 2007 tour
starting in London, England. Hamlin, former lead vocalist from
Pieces of a Dream, along with back-up band G-Funk, rocked The Pizza
Express Jazz Café in London's Soho district for seven shows
culminating with a New Year's Eve concert which was opened by
Acoustic Alchemy. This was G-Funk featuring Tracy Hamlin's first
gig at The Pizza and according to club management, Hamlin and G-Funk
will be returning annually for this New Years Eve bash.
Tracy's next stop is a top 10 American Jazz club, Blues Alley.
Hamlin and her band will be at Blues Alley on Monday February 5th for
two shows, 8PM and 10PM. Founded in 1965, Blues Alley is the
nation's oldest continuing jazz supper club, having showcased
internationally renowned concert hall artists such as Dizzy
Gillespie, Sarah Vaughan, Nancy Wilson, Grover Washington Jr., Ramsey
Lewis, Charlie Byrd, Maynard Ferguson and Eva Cassidy in a small
intimate setting. Located in the heart of historic Georgetown in an
18th century red brick carriage house, Blues Alley offers its patrons
a unique ambiance, reminiscent of the jazz clubs of the 1920's and
30's.
The final stop on Hamlin's winter 2007 tour is Sweet Lorraine's Jazz
Club in New Orleans Louisiana. Tracy will be at Sweet Lorraine's
Mardi Gras weekend Saturday February 17th for two shows, 10PM and
Midnight. Sweet Lorraine's has been featured in both ESSENCE and
Travel & Leisure Magazine. USA Today noted Sweet Lorraine's Jazz
Club as one of the Top 10 Jazz Clubs in the Country.
