June 4, 2003:
It has been a while since we did an update and there is quite a bit
of news we have for you kitties.......
80's LA icons, Junkyard, has signed on with Heat Slick to release
their newest CD entitled "Tried and True" on October 28, 2003. Full
track listing is now up on the catalog page. Mp3's will be posted
soon.
Motochrist's "Greetings From The Bonneville Salt Flats" CD will also
be released on October 28, 2003. Full track listing is now up on the
catalog page. Mp3's will be posted soon. The CD was produced by Brad
Cooke (Counting Crows, Queens of the Stone Age) and features guest
vocals by none other than Texas Terri! This is truely a brilliant
record and not too missed by any fan of true rock and roll! Congrats
guys!
Bay Area trash rockers, The Blvd. Strays join the Heat Slick ranks!
The band features Scott Beebe, owner of Heat Slick, and Chris Ban
formerly of Bite and Kickstarter. The Blvd. Strays sport a sleazy,
street-edged sound that might be compared to the NY Dolls, Dead Boys,
and Hanoi Rocks. Watch for them to tenatively play in August with
Motochrist and a full length CD in the future. More information to
come soon!
Some tour info:
August 15-16: Motochrist hits the Bay Area for two shows. Venues TBA.
August 28-30: Motochrist and Junkyard @ The Serie Z Festival, Cadiz
Spain w/ Twisted Sister, Reverend Horton Heat, Hellacopters, Georgia
Satellites, Lords of the Altamont, and lots more!
August 31-September 3: Motochrist does Spain! Madrid, Barcelona, and
more w/ The Lords of the Altamont.
New reviews of the Heat Slick compilation will be posted this week!
Thanks to Black Velvet Magazine and Lollipop Magazine for the
reviews!
Sugarbuzz Magazine has done an interview with Heat Slick owner, Scott
Beebe. Scott talks about his past and current project and the future
of Heat Slick Records.
