BEATLES 6 DISC DVD SET! 76 CARTOONS FOR SALE!
John Lennon, Ringo Starr, George Harrison and Paul McCartney, the
four mop-topped musicians, from Liverpool, The Beatles, dominated the
music scene in the the 1960's. An animated series based on the
foursome soon became a huge hit on Saturday mornings.
The Beatles cartoons aired on ABC-TV from September 25, 1965 to April
20, 1969. It was produced by Al Brodax for King Features in New York.
The animation was done by various studios including TVC of London,
the same studio that later produced "Yellow Submarine", the Beatles
feature-length cartoon. Three other animation studios were also
involved in the series. They were Artransa in Australia, Cine-Centrum
in Holland, and CanaWest in Vancouver, BC.
The voices of The Beatles were supplied by Paul Frees, an American
who did the voices of John and George, and Lance Percival, an
Englishman who did the voices of Paul and Ringo.
The sing-a-long segments were very limited animation pieces, which
showed The Beatles, most of the time, in "mini adventures" while the
song lyrics were shown on the screen below.
