A while ago (mid May?) someone posted a message on the
TL My Space page saying they were putting an interview
they'd done with the band on their website page at the
end of May.

Did anyone take a note of the website link??????? As
the message has of course now disappeared.

Sharon

Hello,

TL had a show on 13 of June in St.-Petersburg, Russia. Despite the
almost 3 hours delay because of electricity failure (there was a huge
storm before the concert), the show itself was great. The wooden floor
in front of the scene was almost broken, really, by jumping under "I
wonna be a killer, ha-ha-ha" public :)

There are some my photos from this show here -
http://terijoki.spb.ru/g2/main.php?g2_itemId=10810 .

Best,

I wasn't aware of this mailing list, but now I'm on and even
considering some delay, here's a link to another set of pictures from
that gig, taken from another point across the stage from my brother

Enjoy!

I'm really surprised that no one has posted anything here about the new
Tiger Lillies book. Of course, that might be because mere words cannot
begin to describe it...well, that might be a bit too much hype, but only
a little. If you like the Tiger Lillies' sound and "look," Klaus
(b7UE) Pelzer's excellent book is for you...really! Here in print are
all the words to Martyn Jaques' tunes through 2007's "Urine Palace,"
with a countless wealth of b7UE's Tiger Lillies photography. Now for
the fun stuff: Due to the unbelievable slowness of the international
post, I am in possession of two of these incredible books, and the good
Mr. Pelzer has instructed me to give my extra one to a Tiger Lillies
fan. Soooo, if you see a man with a book sized parcel at a Tiger Lillies
concert in the eastern USA or Canada this autumn, he is NOT a terrorist;
unless you consider giving away a Tiger Lillies book a "systematic use
of terror as a means of coercion," then, well, you get the idea...

I am still awaiting my copy of the book, which is probably taking the

(Klaus warned me that it might be slow!)
It sounds great; I'm looking forward to being able to read all the

I didn't get my copy until fairly recently and I think I assumed that
the book had already been discussed. I'd definitely recommend buying
this, it's very beautiful and funny and it must have been very
interesting being with the band from the start to the present!

Now that's an insidious trick! Went to Tiger Lillies Myspace page
today, got my attention drawn aside for a sec before bringing the
volume down a bit, and that was that. It exploded with a rude shriek
in my face, "YOU ARE A T***T!" To say that my colleagues in the office
were... mmmm... bewildered, is to say little. One of them advised to
start my computer every morning like that - he says, it will be
stimulating. Oh, I'm sure The Tiger Lillies meant it to happen this
way! So here's my advise: mute the sound before going to their
Myspace:-)

Hi. I havent introduce myself to the group. My name is Jesus, and i'm
a new fan of the Tiger Lillies. I'm from Mexico City, and here we love
gorey, dark, cruel stories. I'll share a couple of lirycs from mexican
compousers that i think you'll enjoy, both from the 80's. Very
"Lillies" like.

patado y cos,

Alarma, Alarmala de tos,
uno, dos, tres,
patado y cos,

La Lola, su historia lloro,
y auxilio al tira imploro
el azul, sonriendo la miro
Que que fue lo que paso

siguiola, jalola, atacola,
golpeola, tirola, pateola, pegola, violola
con una pistola

Alarma, Alarmala de tos
uno, dos, tres
patado y cos

Alarma...
Alarma...

___

Alarm it coughing. Botellita de Jerez.

Lola was paciently begging for money
Forced by her dad she was suffering
He gets good money from this
Poor girl had a hump

Her mother was a whore
She was wiked, had a bad heart
Her brother lived at party
he was the fairy lover of a fat guy

That day was going on normaly
When her father attacked her suddenly
He raped her with demential desire
And she wanted to die in that instant.

She killed her father when he was following her
While her mother was doing it with his brother
She thought she would never find help
Until she finaly found a police man

Alarm, alarm it coughing
One, two, three
kick and "cos"

Alarm, alarm it coughing
One, two, three
kick and "cos"

Lola weeped her story
and beged for help to the cop
the man in blue looked at her smiling
What do you think happened next?

he followed her, pulled her, attacked her,
hit her, trowed her, kicked her, raped her
with a gun.

Alarm, alarm it coughing
One, two, three
kick and "cos"

Alarm...
Alarm...

___
Notes:

Alarma (Alarm) is the name of a very popular red tone tabloid, from
where they took the note to write the liryc.

"Alarm, alarm it coughing... One, two, three... kick and "cos"" is a
resemblance to a popular game whith rimes and jumps. It doesn't really
makes sense.

El amor que yo te tengo

el de Dalila a Sansón,

El cariño que en tí siento
es el de Elektra a su padre,
el de Hamlet a su hermana,
de Borgia a la humanidad.

La pasión que me despiertas
cual Hitler a los judíos,
Musolini a las masas,

Más si acaso no te alertas

Yo te vaya a destripar.

El amor que yo te tengo

El cariño que en tí siento

Wow. I gess it was a surprise presentation and everyone was involved
in their own conversation. When the Tiger Lillies came to Mexico City
erlier this year, a lot of us didn't know them, yet we were absort.
The concert was great. I'm a fan now, and i can't imagine nothing more
interesting than listen to them if you are in the same place. I was
invited to the concert by a friend of my boss who got 4 free tickets
because of her cultural job. None of us knew the Lillies, and only i
was understanding the lirycs. Yet we were all facinated. I'm telling
you, if i had been there i woud have been telling them to shut the
$%&· up too...

Yes, they came earlier this year, one night only, in
the city theatre. It was awesome. I was sitted next to
a lady whose cell phone rang in the middle of an
important silence in a song. She was so embarased, she
pulled the batery out in desesperation. Martin danced
to the beat of the ring... If you like the tiger
lillies and are intrested in mexican culture, you
should search for "Dia de muertos", wich mean "Day of
the dead", its about the same day of the year of
haloween, people offers to they dead beloved ones a
dinner, because that night they supoused to be
allowed to come back. Nowadays is mixed with haloween,
so it's a dark, gorey, scary festivity. Just as tim
burton based Edward Sisorhands on Shockheaded Peter, a
lot of the aestetics of Nightmare before christmas and
the corpse bride is based ond this holyday.

You can check on their site tigerlillies.com to see their schedule, on top of
that their usual answer
at least when they visit Denmark is that they will come if they are invited, so
you just have to rattle some cages and get a music hall or theater to book them,
or gather enough of your friends to make it possible
;-)
Hope it helps

I remember reading that they performed that song in Los Angeles while
there were fires there...
