Druckfarben back to the future again at Orbit Room tonight, Thurs July 16!
Now appearing at Orbit Room on the third Thursday of every month, Druckfarben has found a room that's perfect for their romp through the days of Prog. Rock music with songs by bands such as Yes, Genesis, Gentle Giant, ELO, King Crimson and Rush.
Their first two shows in the acoustically damn-near-perfect room upstairs at 580 College St. just east of Clinton west of Bathurst went so well that the group has been confirmed as the feature act the third week of each month from now `til who knows when.
The group is centred by frontman and lead singer Phil Naro, who's well known for his own bands (he's John of Phil & John) and as an amazing vocalist who does spot-on tribute shows of the band Foreigner. He's backed by Ed Bernard on guitar, William Hare on keys and rhythm section Peter Murray (bass and vox) and Troy Feener on drums.
I was at their debut Orbit show in May and I have to tell you this is one of the most melodically exciting, dramatic bands you'll see anywhere. The vocals, shared by most of the band members, are jaw-droppingly majestic and the playing is stirringly stupendous. You get the idea: these boys ROCK!
And don't forget, Orbit Room has one of the neatest open air patios anywhere in the GTA, a nicely secluded back deck with vines, overhanging trees and cool patio lanterns. See ya in Orbit!
