It's been a long time since I've been here... but I've been reading
through some things and it's just really disturbing the way it's all
shaken down. However disturbing, I can't say I'm surprised. What I'm
going to say will make me even less popular than I already am, but
it's hard to argue with facts.

Many of you are addicted to TC's music like a crack whore is addicted
to her next fix. You'll lie, cheat, steal and prostitute yourself to
get your next fix. You'll walk around asking anyone if they have
something to give you and then once you get it - you'll ask for more.
It's the kind of never-ending-non-satisfaction that sucks the very
life out of creative people. The prospect of it never being enough...

To this day, I get emails from people asking me for shit. Do you know
that takes some nerve? I get emails from people I've not talked to in
years and they all go the same way:

"Hey man! How are you! Things are good here... hope the family is
doing well. {meaningless insincere babble about recent events personal
or political}... P.S. Do you have any more TC shit to give me?"

I don't even reply to these emails anymore. It just disgusts me how
it's never enough for some people. I should know... I used to be the
same way. I paid $250 for a pink world poster on ebay that now sits in
a storage unit collecting dust. I spent nearly $10,000 of my personal
money (save nothing of the months of phone calls and paperwork) to put
together Retrospective and never made a dime off it. I've sold nearly
every collectible that I ever wasted money on. In the coming weeks
I'll be getting rid of damn near all of it - because it's JUST stuff.
I used to have friendships entirely based on this premise. People I
thought were my friends were just leaches sucking off of me for
information and things they could get from me. I bet Tony feels the
same way. Have you all stopped to think of how completely insane you
are all about some of this? There are some exceptions. I still think
Sylvia (although I've not spoken to her in many months) is a stand
up-class-act. But for every one of her there are 100 that are selfish
bastards who only ever wanted from me what they could get for themselves.

I can't tell you how much I really do not miss the daily bullshit that
running tonycarey.com was. In fact, in the next week or two, I'll be
selling the entire tonycarey/tranquilitybase.com web site archive in a
massive ebay auction. 4 years of work will be up to the highest
bidder and I won't miss it. It can be someone else's headache, someone
else's bullshit. Perhaps the person putting up with TC's internet end
will want this stuff ... perhaps she won't.

I just wish for once in your life you could appreciate what you
have.... or had.... or whatever. Instead you all tear eachother appart
and complain about what... nothing.

One day you'll all realize it's JUST stuff. It's shit you can put into
iTunes and then re-sell. It's music and yes that can be very personal
and touching... but it loses all it's meaning when it's traded like a
commodity. I've learned my lessons through experience. I can tell that
there are other who still have some left to learn.
