This is a private group for Catholic artists wishing to print advertise and web-advertise at the most effective yet-economical manner. It will be in conjunction with the forthcoming topcatholicsongs.com site. The only stipulation is that your songs be available on iTunes. And, if you have congregational-friendly songs, that these songs be available via CCLI, and that a PDF of the song notation be available.
The goal of this group is to find the best songs (within its members) that fit a given theme. Then have these songs/artists/albums/genres be listed (in a Top List) format, as an advert. in print media.
People like lists. People use lists to make sure they know what's current, what's available, and what can help them in their spiritual walk. Artists will like lists too--being printed in a Top 10 List is a press-kit honor, and will give a laser-focus advertising for the patron, going beyond who the artist is, and more for what the artist can do for them.
Examples of such lists:
Top 10 Pro-Life Songs
Top 10 Advent Songs
Top 10 Songs that Motivate You Live More Chastely
Top 10 Affordable Touring Artists in New England
Top 10 Mary Songs
Top 10 Eucharistic Adoration Songs
Top 10 Female Artists of 2007
These lists will be printed, in a consistent format, in a major publication. For example, six different lists will print over six weeks. The list will then point to a website: topcatholicsongs.wordpress.com, which allows people to listen, discover artists, and purchase the songs directly from iTunes.
Being a blog, it will also allow the artists themselves to share the stories behind songs.
Also, comments will be opened. So people who want to debate the merits of a list will be free to do so. Debating draws visitors.
If you have a worship song available in PDF format, we can also provide that for download.
All this, and at a fraction of the cost of a (forgettable) print ad.
Please pass the word. Thanks for reading.
