I am new to traditional Irish music, but I have
enjoyed what I have heard. I was invited to the Singing
Club meeting at Foley's in Sligo while visiting
Ireland last week. A lovely woman by the name of Frances
invited me to come by, but I was unable to because of a
headache. My husband and his sister went and really enjoyed
it. They actually participated by singing (not their
gift to be sure) a couple songs--America's national
anthem and a bit of nonsense for fun.<br><br>Where would
be a good starting place to learn about the history
of Sean-nos? I have but one cassette I picked up on
Inismor. I'm interested in traditional song both in Irish
and English. <br><br>I sing and play guitar in my
church's worship band. I grew up in a singing family. I
enjoy many styles of music, but have been finding
myself drawn back toward folk music recently.<br><br>I
loved visiting Ireland and plan to return as often as
