TV CDs pricing, distribution, 25 august musicology camp, future pl   Message List

Tribal Voices CDs are ready at last,
Chris in Brighton made me 150 for £2.30 each,
30 each of TVCD3a, TVCD3b, TVCD4a, TVCD4b, TVCD5
(the a and b sides of tapes 3and 4, 'the devon gathering'
and theyre wonderful with artwork printed onto the CDs,
and shiny writing.

I sold quite a few at the Big Green Gathering for five pounds each
and gave 25 to Shane for mail order
and 9 to Vicky for Glastonbury
but at what price should we sell them?

Should I just try to break even with a slight profit
so as to turn on the greatest possible number
to the wonderful music in them
(they got me through a terrible summer,
listening to the tapes again and again)
or should the price be higher,
so as to create funds for recording more music,
and for other eco projects,
perhaps some to the musicians (but theres over a 100 so how??)
and a percentage for the sellers, as was planned with the tapes?

I noticed CDs on sale for £13.49 in glasto...

I'm awaiting feedback...

Gaea and Grey are converting the digital masters of tapes 1 and 2
to CDs, there would be space for extras such as the lyrics,
perhaps Ingrids photos,
and videos from the camps,
has Max still got videos,
is he willing to release any?

and future recordings, TVCD6,7,8,9
im sure there are people out there with the contacts
to make a few more compilation CDs now we have the technology,
and CDs are so much better than tapes
because they can be wound forwards and backwards
without snapping the tape....

If any of you want a CD send a cheque for £7 to shane
(address on the website)
until we decide on pricing,
or get one off me,
im taking several to the Rainbow Circle Musicology Camp
Thu25-Mon29 August
Musicology Camp (with cake) : George, Hazel and Julie and John
at Kniveton, Ashbourne, derbyshire,
hope to see lots of you there
and that magic Hat will triumph over tickets
and next year Rainbow Circle will be all magic hat
with lots of new and old energy
cos its worth it!

george
