Hi all,
I am posting this to tell you about an exciting opportunity to have
fun playing in brass chamber music. The Brass Chamber Music Workshop
is at Humboldt State University in Arcata, CA. It is in 2 one week
sessions.
July 24-29 and July 31-Aug 5. Right now they still need participants
for the second week as the first week is pretty full. They especially
need trumpets and horns but all instruments are welcome. There are
scholarships available. The link to go to is

If you or anyone you know is interested this is for amateur brass
players of all adult ages. We have people from age 16 to 85 or so.
Usually there are about 60 to 75 participants per week. It is an
intense yet fun environment. Each participant gets coached in a
diferent ensemble (from trio to large 10 pieces) every day and
performs in that ensemble each evening. There are afternoon master
classes on 3 of the 5 days. And in the evenings after the performance
you can enjoy "freelancing" with other participants or hangin' in the
dorm lobby for some fun socializing. Most regular participants can't
wait for the workshop each year. It is a lot of fun. I have been
coaching there for 5 years now and I love it too!!!
