I am seeing more and more units come in with battery damage. The
worst being the older Profex 2 and Bassfex. I have seen quite a few
Tubefex already repaired by the factory for battery damage. I have
recently sent three over after I did a memory mod for further work
at Peavey. I do not repair the units, I merely change the chip and
reload the settings for those who are not inclined to install a chip
themselves. I cannot over emphasize, check the battery for
leakage. Clean up any residue with a Q-tip and acetone (fingernail
polish remover or denatured alcohol). After that, get a new chip
and get rid of the battery forever!
If you send a unit to me and it needs further repair I will ask for
payment for my work and the freight to Peavey. I will then coordinate
with Peavey by emailing their repair department that it is on the
way. I also include in the email your contact info for final
payment and shipping. A copy is also put in the box and another
sent to you.
Please pack the unit well if shipping to me. UPS is the worst for
damage. I will ship UPS only if the unit is extremely well packed
and you request their service. I use USPS Priority mail
otherwise. I have never had any damage yet from them. Still the
unit must be packed well! It must not be able to move in the box or
it will get hammered in shipping!
If you pack and take to the post office it will save you close to or
more than half of what the UPS Store will charge!
Remember I will send you a chip and simple instructions as an
option. You must save your settings to a midi-filer or card. Cards
can still be purchased from:
