Peavey Tubefex, Version 2.0 Upgrade   Message List

I have been using a Transfex 212s for just about 10 years now, but I
recently came across a Tubefex for sale and was thinking of making
the switch to downsize my rig some.

From what I have gathered so far, the Tube Fex is pretty much the
exact same processor except with tubes, and running it with tubes is
optional. Is this true? Also, how does the sound/tone vary running
it with tubes and without the tubes.

I am really happy with my Transfex, it just the size and weight of
moving this thing and my 4x12 cabinet around when I gig. So if I
can get the exact same sounds in a smaller setup, I would definetly
like to make the switch.

Lastly, I noticed some people talking about a version 2.0 upgrade in
regards to the Transfex/Tubefex. What exactly is this, where can it
be done and is it worthwhile to have done?

Thanks for your help in advance and I look forward to hearing back
from you.

Hey Carl, I also have TFPro 212s and use 412MS cabs with the heads. I put the 212 combo on top of my TFPro head and that on the 412MS. One stack on each side...

Hey guys, The 2.0 upgrade does affect the mix parameters in a way that probably necessitates re-tweaking your presets. I wasn't going to do it that way, but...
