Wilson uses them to designate large and small. The patterns of MOS create a
pattern of L & s's that can be replaced with a constant structure
preserving this L-S pattern

Does anyone have some good info on the use of 'L' and 's' in tuning theory? Charles Lucy and Dan Stearns are two names that come to mind. Paul Erlich perhaps?...
