It actually reminds me of what I’ve done at the New Year’s Eve. Not that it has something to do with tunings, but maybe you’ll like it. All of the sounds were made by applying various reverb and chorus effects to clean sine sweeps (sometimes also heavy distortion) and correlating them with dry sine sweeps using the same algorithm which is commonly used for capturing impulse responses (I.E. time-reversed convolution).
